SPORT1 aimed to be a first mover by launching the first sports event in the metaverse. To achieve this, the high-reach Darts World Championship was used as the foundation for a digital extension.
IMPLEMENTATION
On three event days, it was “Game on” in the virtual SPORT1 Ally Pally in Decentraland. Users were offered a new way to experience sports, exclusive content, and the chance to participate in the digital darts giveaway. The grand prize: 2 tickets to the World Championship final in London.
